Our Story

Premier skiing and snowboarding, long-range views, and playful snow tubing…no better place to ride the slopes than Wolf Ridge Ski Resort!

In 1968 Bud Edwards had the vision of bringing a ski resort to a mountain located in the beautiful Wolf Laurel Community and in 1969 the resort officially opened as Wolf Laurel Ski Area. At the time, the resort only had a tow rope and 2 runs.  In 1992 Orville English acquired the property and is still the current owner of the slopes; with this new leadership, the mountain saw a lot of changes. Additional slopes were added increasing the skiable terrain. A mid-station was also added to the quad chairlift opening up new terrain for beginner and mid-level skiers. The lodge also saw renovations during this time period with the addition of our rental shop, cafeteria-style grill, group sales office, and walk-up ticket windows. The Snow Sports School cabin was added to give guests the ability to access the ski school right at the base of the mountain. Throughout the years our snow-making and grooming capabilities grew to a total of 130 snow guns on the mountain and 2 modern groomers. Currently, our latest improvements have been the addition of 15 new snow guns, expansion of our parking area, and of our Wolf Cub slope which allows additional learning space for beginners.

The Lodge at Wolf Ridge Ski ResortOur rustic lodge overlooks the slopes and offers guests 3 stone fireplaces to warm up by and has a large viewing area of the slopes. The gift shop has the latest offerings of items needed to ensure a great day on the slopes which include goggles, gloves, face masks, and souvenirs to take home and remember your adventure at the Wolf. The cafeteria-style grill offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options to make sure you have the fuel needed to ride the slopes. The rental shop is designed to get you through the process of renting your gear as fast and efficiently as possible. The group sales office consists of a team that can assist in getting your group of 15 people or more booked and on the slopes where all can share a memorable experience. The Snow Sports School is a perfect way to start your adventure and love of the sport. The School offers ski and snowboard private lessons as young as 5 years of age and group lessons from ages 8 and up. The tube run; located just a half-mile from the slopes, is fun for all ages and is a great way for young and old alike to play in the snow.
